Surat Diamond Bourse (SDB) is the world’s largest office building ahead of the U.S.A.’s the Pentagon. The foundation stone of this diamond trade centre was laid by then CM of Gujrat Anandiben Patel in 2015 but after some years the pace of this project decreased due to Covid-19 and the whole project was completed in 2022. The project cost is around ₹3000 crores and is designed by Manit Rastogi the founding partner of architecture firm Morphogenesis.

The Surat Diamond Bourse is a non-profit organisation(NPO) promoted by Surat Diamond Bourse, a company founded in 2010. Vallabhbhai Patel is its current chairman.
This building is located on the outskirts of Surat, Gujrat. It is a part of the Diamond Research and Mercantile City (DREAM City), an upcoming business district in Surat. The city will be built near Khajod along the lines of the Gujrat International Finance Tec-city and Dholera smart city near Ahmedabad.
Presently, diamonds are polished at Surat and traded at Bharat Diamond Bourse, Mumbai which is about 5 hours away from Surat. SDB will provide time-saving connectivity to the diamond traders.
Highlights of the building-
- It is spread across 6.6 mn square feet.
- It has 4200+ diamond merchant offices.
- It consists of 9 iconic towers with G+15 floors in each.
- It consists of 131 lifts (connecting the floors) with 3 m/s speed.
- Platinum-rated green building with ‘Panchtatra’ thematic landscaping.
- The passage in the whole building is of total 22 Km.
- It consists of 7754 windows.
- Over 4000 CCTV cameras are available for high security.
PM Modi is expected to inaugurate the building in November 2023 and it is expected that SDB will provide direct employment to 1.5 lakh people around.
